Frequently Asked Questions
At East West Clearing and Excavation LLC, we know property owners often have important questions before starting a project. Here are clear answers to the most common ones.
Do I need a permit for excavation or land clearing?
In many cases, small clearing projects do not require permits. However, larger projects such as building pads, ponds, or culvert installations may need approval from your county or city. We can advise you on local requirements and help guide you through the process.
How do I know if I need a culvert replacement?
If water is backing up, your driveway is washing out, or your culvert pipe is rusted, crushed, or failing, it likely needs replacement. We use durable double-wall pipe to ensure long-lasting results.
Can you clear just part of my property instead of all of it?
Yes. We offer both full and selective clearing. Many clients choose to clear only the build site, driveway, or pasture areas, leaving surrounding trees intact.
How do you handle tree stumps?
We can remove stumps completely with excavation equipment, or grind them down if removal isn’t necessary. Full removal is best when preparing for construction.
What happens to the debris after clearing?
We can haul away timber, brush, and stumps, or leave select material stacked on-site for firewood, mulch, or wildlife habitat — depending on your preference.
What is riprap and why would I need it?
Riprap is large stone installed along banks, ponds, or drainage areas to prevent erosion. It’s an effective and long-lasting solution for protecting property against water damage.
Can you repair or clean out an existing pond?
Yes. We provide pond dredging, spillway repairs, dam strengthening, and vegetation clearing to restore proper function and improve water flow.
How much does excavation or clearing cost?
Costs vary depending on project size, terrain, soil type, and access. We provide free, no-obligation estimates so you know exactly what to expect.
How long will my project take?
Most residential projects can be completed in a few days. Larger projects, like pond repair or full land clearing, may take one to two weeks. We always provide a timeline estimate before starting.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept checks, major credit cards, and digital payments. A deposit is typically required before work begins, with the balance due upon completion.
